It has been a busy month for me. The LAPC was in full swing for the month of February. The cash game section of the commerce is full of games I am happy to play this time of year. It goes from 1-3 games a day that I like, to anywhere from 5-10 games that I am happy to play in. So needless to say, I work a lot during February. I spent 16 days, over three trips, playing poker at the Commerce this month.
I didn’t enter a single tournament for this series. All the bigger tournaments that I would consider are in the last week of the tournament series, including the main event. That week is also my daughter’s birthday week. So I go home and miss those events. The good news is there is plenty of other poker during the year, so missing a couple tournaments for some family time isn’t a problem.
I won a small amount my first trip to the commerce at the start of the month. Then the second trip went poorly. I lost slightly more than I won the first trip. The last trip was great though. I won 7 of 8 days I was there. It made the month a success overall. So between the Poker Night tournament at Thunder Valley and my cash game results, I am off to a good start this year.
Somehow, in between many, many hours of poker, we hosted several more webinars for our 12-week challenge. Overall, we are pretty happy with the response that we have received from this promotion and are looking forward to putting one or two of our students into a WSOP event this summer to test their skills against the big bad world. We are half way through the webinar series now. The webinar for Session 7 (out of 12) is scheduled for Tuesday, March 8th. If you want more information or to sign up, click here.
We also are nearing the launch of our Limit Hold’em course. We have set April 1st as the official launch date. So we have been working hard on getting everything together for a smooth launch. That is always a bigger project than we anticipate…
Anyway, we will be sending out some teasers and other information to our email list this month, so be on the lookout. If you aren’t already on our list, you can write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org request to be added so you get the information.
Now I have to go pack. I am off to the Shooting Star tournament in San Jose. I always enjoy my trips to the bay area. Aside from the good poker, I have a couple close friends there that it is nice to catch up with.
